Nakhla for Arts / ABOUT
Art. Artists. Community.
Nakhla for Arts is an Iraqi non-governmental organization based in Baghdad. Its bylaws set out a mission to develop artistic talent, support artists, provide platforms for their work, and strengthen cultural and artistic awareness.
The organization is custodian of the twenty-work Abdulrazzaq Abdulwahid collection and works by Fuad Hamdi. This responsibility connects the care of artworks with the value of bringing them into public conversation.
The organization is chaired by Hamdi Imad Hamdi, who founded Nakhla Gallery for Fine Arts in Baghdad in 2010. The gallery’s history forms part of his longstanding engagement with art; the organization’s purposes and governance are set out in its own bylaws.
